Yuriy joined rAAVen Therapeutics in 2024, bringing more than 20 years of experience in both in vivo and in vitro neuroscience research. With a medical degree and a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Eastern Finland, he has contributed to the development of experimental therapies for spinal cord injury, including approaches based on small molecules, stem cells, and gene therapy. He continued his career at Lund University, where he advanced to associate researcher and developed patient iPSC-based models for neurodegenerative and demyelinating diseases, studying Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, oligodendrocyte biology, and neuroinflammation. At rAAVen, Yuriy oversees strategy and operations as Managing Director, integrating advanced disease models with the company’s AAV capsid engineering platform.
